How do I create a Diagnostic and Recovery Toolset (DART) bootable image? E-mail
Thursday, 25 February 2010 07:55
Click here to find out more!A. One of the applications included with the Microsoft Desktop Optimization Pack (MDOP) is DART, which is made up of tools previously available through the Winternals Administrator's Pak.

Once you've installed DART on a machine, a wizard is available to create an ISO image that contains the DART environment. You can use this image to troubleshoot operating environments and resolve problems from outside of the OS.

You need Windows 7 or Windows Server 2008 R2 installation media available for use by the DART creation wizard in addition to the Microsoft debugging tools. Once you have all these pre-requisites, launch the ERD Commander Boot Media Wizard and follow the prompts that ask for the location of the installation media and the debugging tools.

How can I open a command prompt at my current location in the Windows 7 Explorer? E-mail
Thursday, 25 February 2010 07:51
A. In previous versions of Windows, you could install an application to enable a "Command Prompt Here" context menu item in Explorer via a registry setting. With Windows 7, this functionality is built into the OS. Just hold down the Shift key as you right-click in Explorer and you'll see an "Open command window here" option that will open a command prompt for the selected folder.
